WATCH | Sharjah Light Festival 2025 illuminates 12 iconic locations

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the 14th edition of the Sharjah Light Festival at the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park.

Organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), the festival runs from February 5 to 16, 2025, featuring stunning light displays across 12 iconic locations.

The opening ceremony included a video presentation highlighting the festival’s journey since 2011 and a spectacular show, "An Extraordinary Vision," celebrating Sharjah’s transformation into a cultural hub. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, emphasized the festival’s role in boosting tourism and supporting local businesses, with over 70 national projects participating in Light Village.

Key shows include:

A Journey Through Light and Culture at Sharjah Mosque, illustrating harmony between humanity, art, and nature.

The Story of the Wadi, depicting Sharjah’s history through themes like water, settlements, and oral traditions.

The Light of the East, a 3D projection show at Al Rafisah Dam in Khorfakkan.

This year, the festival expands to new locations, including Al Heera Beach, Al Hefaiyah Lake, and Aljada, attracting visitors from across the UAE and beyond. Light Village, running until February 23, offers exhibitions, entertainment, and a platform for local SMEs to engage with the public.
